I'm trying to figure out the right scale for my Times Square, and see what you guys think of the direction it is heading in. Any tips or advice is appreciated.
Buildings are at 200 scale, the street lights and electronic sign and sand bags were scaled down a bit. Obviously a work in progress.
Hey there! Small tip: hit 'V' before taking screenshots to put the map in 'game view' mode, hiding objects like markers and properly applying some effects.
That said: I like the idea and where you're going. The level of detail you've put in is already looking good. In regards to the scale; it depends on what you want to do. For a regular playable map, I think the scale is fine. The buildings feel huge and it's possible to walk through them in the streets below with your dudes. If you really want to imitate times square, though, I'd suggest greatly increasing the Z scale of the buildings to make them seem far taller and giving the terrain a far better feeling of scale. With doodad fading, you may make this work and still make it playable, but it will be a bit harder than leaving it as it is. It's something to keep in mind nevertheless.
Is not often we see a new terrainer coming here to become a mapster really cool and happy we are going to see more entries on the WTEs. Posted on this weeks.

This is starting to look good!

Depends on if you are using air units in the map.
Air units in SC2 have trouble with tall terran urban tilesets in that they always fly into the buildings.
No-Fly Zones are cumbersome and air units often run into pathing issues when encountering No-Fly Zones.
Good luck!
