What about: What you expect from HotS? Terrain wise ofcourse and then try to create that yourself. You could try to do nice 'Icey' maps by being creative with doodads or try to represent 'The core fantasy of the zerg'. (AKA my excuse for showing these pics wich i had no idea where to post :p).
You know, now that many people are good at terraining, it should comes to another level of difficulty. I mean there that we know alot of things and when you do a WTE it pratices one or few of the things you know. What could be cool, is a WTE that make you use ALL the things you know.
For example: The lightning, the fog, the camera and their settings like field of view and view angle, doodates HDR (coloration), all the doodate research (and not stick to a few), include units (normal and from campagin), terrain object, all 8 textures, roads, water with personalised setting, foliage...
And maybe a little go into the Data (for the fog but also for w/e, make a unit have a doodate model or vice versa...). We could ask for this WTE to create a small video (ex what I do). This mean a little use of triggers for the camera. It is very easy and for those who never opened the Trigger editor then, they will start somewhere.

2) "Alright boys, time to kick some serious butt" (Create an installation)
3) "What would it look like if I were in the computer?" (Create what you think life in the computer would look like) (Tron videos and screenshots don't count)
I think it could be nice making Melee maps signed Sc2Mapster :D and that we publish them on the NA-EU servers. Maybe make a little tournament or something like that for fun and play on the newest map made by the community.

I actually think this is a good idea. Melee map terrain-ing seems alot more complicated to me as it involves balancing the players locations more than anything else =P.
Hey just thought of an idea. Why not make a wte where you make a racing track. I remember seeing this one video of a hellion with physics applied to it so it would slide around when going around corners and it could jump, not sure if the jump was real jumping or imitated but it was one of the first things I remember when I joined sc2mapster. So ya a race track for that poor hellion.
I have another idea. I don't exacly know how to say though. "Something made like a chain reaction". This idea pop-up in my head by looking at the terrain of madlibrarian in the WTE #50. He made a space station with a kind of chain. I mean, there is a place to create electricity, another to land, another to do something else, etc. And for a space station, you need all these composants. What I want to try to explain is, making a terrain that there is many subject linked together for some reason. In the example of the space station, you need electricity, you need place to land you need reactors, etc. Let's say for a base in the desert, you might need a place to live, an house, but how work your house. You could have a place where it is for generating electricity, a road, satellite, what ever... So you need all the composants to create a whole thing.
This might force us to have more idea because you will not only think about making a building, but making 'how the building works'.
For a farther example, if anyone saw the movie Avatar (those blue mans), the EMP (the mechanical huge machine that walk), Cameron (the creator of the movie) have created those machine while thinking about, where is the gas, how the motors work, how it walks, where are the control buttons, etc. Everything is think.
That's what I want us to try. Not just making an house, making an house where you could explain how it works. Make the underground and see the pipes, see the electricity, lamps, etc.
I hope you know what I mean so you can re-explain in a better way =D

I'll try an example: You got the solar thing, next to it you could have a kind of batterie where is stocked the energy, then cables on the ground going to something else, then this something else caus it is energized by the batterie, it will do another thing.
I want to create a "chain". "How does a car work? You press the accelerator pedal and it does something, make the motor use essence and turn and then the wheels turn caus the motor turn, then the car move caus the wheels turn caus of the motor."
Things like that. I know, it is static the doodates, but I don't want them to necessairly move, but be linked in some ways together, because the ones need the other parts.
"How does deadman's port machines work?" You could choose a specific subject and see what people think about "how it wokrs". For example the scrap conveyor belt, from what is it getting the scrap, where the energy come from, what make it works. You could remake it in bigger with other doodate to show the interior or show for example a fire where you can see cables on the ground, you could put something else befor the conveyor to show where the scrap come from. It could be also funny, what about a huge hydralisk that is making those or making the machine works. When you see this conveyorm you automatically see terran in your head, but what if it was a creation of the Protoss or the Zerg?
Acutally, do you take notes of all the ideas to come? Or you must come back here and read again where we are at? xD I would make a txt file with all the listed ideas xD

-Post-Apocalyptic City with a jungle growing on it/taking over the city.
-Jungle with Ice, Snow, and Ice Rivers. [I used the Xil Tileset and changed the lighting to make it look like snow/ice]
-Jungle with Lava and Lava Rivers.
-Some kind of lava furnace.
-A cathedral.
-A Train Sation.
-Something Western [The Wild West, Weird West, etc.]
-Something based on Mythology [Norse, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, etc.]
-Some kind of underground slave mine with crystal/mineral deposits everywhere on the walls of the mine/cave.
-Just some ideas/suggestions, feel free to take these ideas/suggestions if you would like to.
