Okay, so I've been working on this map for a while now and I've finished carving out the terrain I want so now I've gone back to decorating sections. Was looking for some feedback on some of the different areas I've done. I think I have pics from each of the 5 different kinds of lighting sections I have set up.
I'll also give a little detail on what is in the screen shot.
This is one of the docks for the train. Along the edges of the screen at the highest level is unviewable and unreachable terrain, so I'm not worried about those sections. The area below the tracks is clean on purpose.
This is in the factory and is also probably one of the cleanest sections of the factory.
This is an eco-system that has been set up to assist those working in the facility. Because this is a Castanaar map I had to bring two grass textures in because I couldn't afford to sack any more of my other tiles.
This is a secured compound near the facility
These lights are insane, and that's kind of the point. This is a section of the lab where something has gone terribly wrong. These marines are bunkering down with scrap metal in order to protect one of their barracks.
1) You realize the cable in the first picture goes upwards, right? Normally it goes over an elevated cliff, you might want to keep that in mind or it'll look ugly with units running through it.
2) Lower that floating doodad on the fourth picture that's horrendously taunting me =P
P.S. The train and it's scaffolding are custom models, right?
1) Yea, at first it didn't bug me, but now it's starting to. I was about to make a column there, like what you'd see at a train station but for some reason the model turned into a sphere, so I'll have to do it next time I launch the editor. I have another one of those cables that I aligned to go up the edge of a cliff.
2) You don't like my floating space rock?
The train is actually part of the game, it's from the campaign. Same with the scaffolding, but I just made it larger. It's supposed to house the Loki Battle Cruiser when you're getting your hands on the big guns that Tychus likes to ride in.
Thanks. I tried placing a 'pillar' there but it didn't look quiet right, so I just changed the cable, which is now tucked in under one of the nearby computer terminals, rather than jumping around and visually splitting the bay in half.

First one reminds me of AlienBreed :) .
Not a bad start. Just two comments for now;

Looks amazing. I really love the first picture except what's been pointed out. Otherwise the others look great too.
@Keyeszx: Go
