Out of the orange/blue, I've come up with a random new theme I figured may be interesting: "Melee Situation". For this week's exercise, I'd like you guys to create a scene you would see in an average melee map. What does this mean? Simple: this could be a Baneling drop on a bunch of siege tanks guarding a gold mineral expansion, or something like a 4-gate Stalker push closing in on a Terran base. You don't have to create an entire melee map from scratch, just the terrain and scenario as it would apply in melee.

Well, we see StarCraft Merely as a game... But What if it was real, what if the horrors of the zerg, protoss, and Terrans were real? The first two is what we see in game, the other two is a re-creation... ( I dont know why, but the first two make me feel that i was making a terrain for Brood Wars...)
Quick scene I threw together. Not really happy with the lack of variety, but you're not supposed to have many doodads in melee maps for pathing purposes.
Something super super fast. With pretty much no inspiration except the idea of in-ground cut view of widow mines. I did not find the model I had in mind that I saw a long while ago but meh another one did the job fine.

Cool. We've never had something like this, we had stuff that turned around melee mapmaking but not in-game situations.. I like it.
