As I have said before, rocks have a different (or at least tinted) texture for each texture set. I'm not sure where (or if) you can change the texture for each texture set.
Worst case scenario, you change your complete tileset to the one you want the rocks to be in and then swap all the textures to those of the tileset you want.
There should be a field in the data editor you can access for this kind of stuff, though.
Yes, I know. But I don't have the Xil rocks currently, and the lighting was not responsible for the dramatic change in colour. I'm going to play around in data and see if I can't find anything.
Küken, are you trying it on rocks? AFAIK rocks are the only objects in the game with the changable texture property. You, as a data editor, might be trying this technique on doodads/objects where it does not work? It sounds like something that should work.
Sorry to necro (no point creating a new topic, people will find this one like me), but does this still work ?
I have an agria terrain, and if I change the texture as indicated above (tried Agria and Shakuras), nothing changes.
It seems that in the actors, there is outdated textures, no idea if it is related.
Not sure if this belongs in terrain, but I think it does. Probably.
How do I change the texture of the "Rock" doodad? The screen shots below show what my rocks look like. How would I change the texture so that they would look like the rocks from, say, here:http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/terrain/22850-terrain-feedback/#p12 ?

The model data entities specify such a thing. You can hardcode a specific prefix so that the rock model uses said texture.

You can swap textures manually. For the rocks, you won't even need to modify the model; its already done.
Guys... Just check the damn model data, and look for th attached field, and voila!

Did you actually try this? Did not have any effect for me.
I did it for a map with a custom tileset, where the damn rocks would default to an ungly brown and I wanted avernus texture.

I include the before and after in my original map, and more evidence I just created for demonstration.

I know how the rocks look like, I would rather have a test map, because for me the method you described refuses to work.
€ dont bother, I tried it in another map and it worked. Its just the one map, which refuses to show the correct textures.

kk, i added even a rock copy with a different texture group.
EDIT:
What mozared says is right. This only applies for models that have their texture married to the tileset.

aand another way, since the above field may not be on all doodads like asteroids. Add the actor event:
Actor Creation
TextureGroupApplyGlobal avernus (not all may have a rock theme like braxis/avernus haven't tested all)
or in the Tileset, (Basic) Texture Prop
