You know all the kind of emitter that exist, wind, cloud, rain, creep, sunray... Is there a way to see the effect of the emitter directly in the Editor, or we are always forced to load the map in sc2 to see what it looks like?
I'd like an answer to this too. I think I've seen in-editor screenshots of people that did show the effects, but they're shown as the white circle-with-a-cloud-in-it in my editor. It might be a localization thing, as in they show normally if you're on US, and have placeholders for EU. Or there's an option somewhere in the editor. Or I'm dreaming and it's simply not possible.
P.S. What exactly are you trying to say with your Sig? I don't understand it.
It should show the effect in the Editor by pressing V which will go into Game View Mode. If it doesn't then try checking your Editor graphic settings and see if raising the graphics shows the effects. It can also take a few second for some effects to show after pressing V.
Also make sure the effect is high enough as well so it's not underneath the Terrain (Nudge up). Make sure the effect is big enough so that you can see it (Scale up), or start from the highest scale and then scale downward to fit the area you want.
I don't see why this would be different for EU. But as I am in Canada so I have the US version and I can't test that for sure.

Well, this was more of a hunch - everyone I've seen that has the effects working in editor has a US game. It doesn't work for me or Scbrood and we both have EU.
You might have a good point though - I've always thought my editor is in game view mode, but there's more stuff that doesn't work like it should. I'll give it a nudge. Now I just have to peel out of you how you disabled those water waves on EW's map so I can put both of these questions in the FAQ =P

I got US version >.< (Notice that it is not only the US though, but all the North America) And it is working. Thanx for the "V" Notice that if it change your lightning setting, it's because you was in editor lighting or with none. To change this you can use "L" or in View -> Show Ligthing -> choose what you want.
Bronxsy answered the question right. V is the shorcut for Game Mode View, which lets you see visual effects such as fog, dynamic lights, and even birds. I also find S to be pretty useful when mapping out of the map bounds. Ctrl+Alt+H also shows the pathing mesh (VERY useful when you have to place No Flying Zones). You can pretty much hide anything: Shift+D to hide Doodads, Shift+U to hide Units, etc... be aware though that pressing D to enter Doodad mode will show Doodads, whether they are hidden or not, then hide them again if needed when switching to another mode. It applies to every mode actually, even Pathing, Terrain, or Points modes... While using the Game Mode View, nothing stays hidden.
About the water waves:
Data editor > Water section > the water type(s) you use in your map > "Cliff Shoreline" field > set to None
+ do the same for the "Beach Shoreline" field, and you won't have waves anymore.
Beach shorelines show when you modify terrain with the Height tools (if your terrain is higher than the water level, waves will be displayed around that part), while Cliff shorelines only show when you modify cliff levels.
So it's pretty easy to remove the shorelines (waves).
However in my testing I only found the Beach Shorelines to be the major cause of any lag or FPS drops so I would suggest keeping Cliff Shorelines on and removing only Beach Shorelines. Also when I did this change it didn't take effect until reloading the map in the Editor, but it will show the change right away in Test Document or in-game.

It's v. But if that's not working try turning up the editor's preferences. Make it like high or ultra.
