Alright Wargirl, your terrain is just impressive. Here are the reasons why:
It all uses doodads as terrain level. Meaning all paths are made of multiple doodads preventing repetitiveness.
It has multi-level pathing (most likely not in gameplay but visually at least) which is awesome and give a vision of depth, it's a full structure with multiple levels.
The scaling is realistic. The paths, the fences, the windows, the doors, the ships, the piping, it all looks realistic. Nothing makes you think it's weird, it's all fine.
The mountain in the back are awesome, it comes from the Nova missions and their textures are just very beautiful. It creates very well defined front screen and back screen.
All the effects, lighting, smokes, wind, exhausts, it all looks great.
The terrain mixed with snow and the use of a splat ( i think) that can apply on other doodads to overlap their texture with snow is just awesome.
You used pitch and roll for some stuff which you are master at already making old stuff look new and refreshing again like the metal thing holding both cheminey in the far back.
The water used is great with a nice coloration, it's dark, but alot reflective and disturbed, most likely because of the platform is against the water flow (realistic interaction between environment and the terrain, structures). The water feels like very cold.
The piping is really nice, everywhere you look there is some piping going on. I don't know what this structure does, but it's definitly doing something with either the water or...far below the platform extracting something. Why else would terran go into hostile cold environment? Something attracted them there.
There are many very little details that makes the terrain much greater and more realistic like the wind flag, all the antenas, the pipes, the pillars...
The terrain is very polished.
So... if I had to actually find points to make better... I would have to search and look closely... and I did it. Here is what i came with.
There could be some floating icebergs, since it looks super cold, there is snow, there are mountains nearby, there has to be ice somewhere.
Some pictures could use the Depth of field which adds a little bit more depth to the image
I would put more snow texture on the ground paths where the people would walk.
I would maybe add even some "Void - Korhal Platform Tire Marks"
I would add stairs that go into water if someone falls to allow him to climb back on the platform
I would add some kind of boat-ship so people could go around the platform on a boat to look at it
I would try to think about the main things required for living such as; drinkable water (are there water tanks, or some kind of water transformer), room to live (the workers on the platform most likely have a place to sleep and spend some time), electricity (Are there generators to create electricity, maybe some underwater fan that uses the water flow to create it), are there cables to transport electricity to the lights and stuff, maybe attached under the paths.
I would add lights on the tallest part of the terrain since there are flying ships around, at night they must see the tallest areas
I would create a command post with view around to see landing area
I would try to add more decals and signs
I would add ice spikes up side down along the paths caused by the exhausts and the cold temperature
I would add maybe some kind of hangar where some basic trucks are stored to move the falling snow away
And that's about it, I'm out of ideas this terrain is too awesome. Good job.
