It's monday again, meaning it's time for another WTE! This week, something a little bit different. The apparent craze for the DayZ mod has caught my eye too, and its terrain has given me inspiration for an interesting WTE. This week we'll attempt to create "Rolling Hills". What this means is simple: the idea is that you create some kind of grassy terrain that stretches forth from the viewpoint endlessly. Think landscapes like The Shire from Lord of the Rings, or simply my examplary mention of DayZ.
Like it a lot, though it could maybe use some more trees. Also shots from other angles and some more stuff to look at in general. Feels very nice already as is, though.
Like that Ark, it captures the feeling really well. I do think it could become overall more interesting by adding a couple more small focal points... Perhaps a semi-large rock somewhere in the background?
Christ, it's tuesday already. Sorry folks, I had a massive exam today and spend all day learning yesterday. You can tell someone's putting in effort when he forgets to update the WTE =P.
I'll post #85 in an hour or so, after I'm done with dinner.
Weekly Terraining Exercise #84
Evening!

Have fun, and enjoy your week :)

Your DayZ screenie inspired me to make a simple terrain representation of it :}

Yeah, I have felt that too. It needs some more doodads like rocks. I will see to it :)
Where is WTE #85 at?
I think they died on us.

:O strange indeed... but maybe Mozared had work to do :)

I think you forgot something to do... :P Even if in the last WTEs I'm not posting, I'm still looking what is done and might eventually come back ;)
