Dude, those are pictures of real life aquariums, we couldn't possibly compete against that within starcraft 2, specially thinking about system specs and broadening the playability of the maps.
sorry but not every map terrain can be solved with "moar doodads", "moar lights" and/or "moar shaders".
There are insufficient doodads and other functions to achieve such rich effects. We are also limited to 8 textures, a certain amount of doodads before lagg sets in, and a relatively large but still finite patience.
Wonder why the Eskimos wear snow goggles. It all boils down to the bleaching of the photoreceptive pigments in our retinas. Best advice is have high contrast and low brightness on the screens else you will burn your eyes.

may be a weird question, but did you happen to watch the fate/zero anime series? you have a striking resemblance in terms of speech to one of the characters
It just reminds me to not make every area in a map the same. Each area should have unique combinations of textures/doodoads, while still being true to the tileset. An area can be a base, an expansion, a road. Think of WoW where not only every zone is unique but almost every meter you walk.

You ill-begotten mongrels.
This is how you should approach naturalistic environment artistry. The same principals apply. Consider lighting most of all. Consider focal points
I do not think that is a SC2 map. I do not even think those graphics are real time...
You forgot about rocks.

Plus moar doodads creates lagg.

Amazing aqua video! But so unreal for SC. The editor does not contain next gen. light and the current doodads or just not gana cut it.

Cool photos? Sure. Is the StarCraft 2 engine capable of these kinds of settings? Unfortunately, no.
How often do players look at the scenery when it is being nuked every couple of seconds?

Often enough for pro players to have complained about maps with snow tilesets straining their eyes in the past.
Looking at you, Polar Night LE

That's why white text on black canvas is better than black on white.
