No, you were too quick, I was just finishing the edits and uploading it =P.
It's there now. Also, Scrin, you got lucky - I managed to salvage most of your work by copying/pasting it to the new map and making it somewhat work with Status' map. Anybody's free to take it now, and I wouldn't mind if someone wants to put work into making that crossover work a little bit better.
Will someone please clarify the rules for me? I am slightly confused as to what is intended.
Basically, what you do is:
You check if the latest "I'm working on it post" has an attachment in it, if it does and nobody has posted afterwards, you are free to download the attachment and continue, but remember to make a post that says that you're working on it.'
If there isn't an attachment on the latest "I'm working on it" post, then he's working on it and you'll have to wait, HOWEVER, if it's been an hour since he picked it up and he still hasn't attached anything nor said anything else, you are allowed to pick it up and that guy has lost his turn.
If you pick it up, you clarify by making a post saying that you have so everyone can see that it's your turn, then you do some terrain for about 30minutes (don't be too long, because other people will want to have a go as well), and when your time is up you attach it to your post and edit it saying that you're done.
If you feel that 30minutes wasn't enough, then you can wait for at least one person to have done something on it -AFTER- you, and then you can pick it up again.
Quick question Mozared, are we able to raise the terrain where the road is, and have a ramp up and down, as long as we don't change the road layout, or is it to remain flat?
Huh? No-one told me I had 30 minutes to POST IT. I thought I had 30 minutes to MAKE it. Oh well. Whatever.
You have 30minutes to MAKE it, but you have to understand that there's more people who wants to have their 30minutes, so you can't wait 2 hours after you've worked on it for 30 to upload it (just an example).

What Zarakk said. What point is there in forcing people to only map for 30 minutes if they could just wait a day with uploading it? The reason I'm keeping this time short and speedy is because I want to make it easier for people to join on this project. I want to prevent a scenario where somebody checks into this thread 4/5 times a day and all he keeps seeing is the same post by a guy saying "yeah I'm working on it".

You're free to fiddle with it and even delete and replace the road if you feel so inclined - anything that makes it look better. The only thing I really want to keep intact is the whole linear experience, else an RPG map is never going to work. Hence why I undid an earlier change that joined up the road leading out of the town eastwards with the ending point.
Also, Zeropoints, don't be an asshole. The whole idea is that the terrain is a joint effort and the fact that we all contribute in different ways should be the projects' strength, not its weakness. I could yank on you for having not even 1/4th of my posts, and the fact that you've only released my map, but aside from the fact that it's stupid, it doesn't help any of us. Being an asshole has its place, but it's not here.
Wow, that sucks. 20th time I tried to open the map and it's still stuck. Why? I turned graphics to lowest. I tried everything I could think of. Every time I try to open this map, it stop when it wants to load the terrain. Is it that great of terrain or what? I can't even open it! :(
EDIT: done, i made an way to a place where some marines are killed by a group of lyotes. maybe a sidequest? were you have to find a missing group of marines?
I really like where this is headed, good work everyone! I've got some ideas laid out that I'll probably apply lateron to give the map some more streaming. For now, the town needs fleshing out and the transitions between some areas need work.

@Mozared: Go I don't see any attachments to your post. You didn't forget it, right? Must be my browser. =P

This is going to be really cool! I think these kind of projects are really funny. We should do more in the future!
I will also try edit the map some more but not now. Great job so far everyone!

Workin' on :]
Edit: Done! I'm still a beginner when it comes to terraining but I hope it'll fit the mood of complete map :]
ooo post of 1 lets see the map terraining skillzzzzzz
Not exactly nice to judge someones ability by the ammount of posts they've made. Mayhaps a bit of a nicer welcome would be a bit more helpful.

Edit: But it's fine when I open my maps.
@yukaboy: Go
Works fine for me
Working on it.
Edit: done. and feel free to edit my stuff :D
Hmmm, this looks interesting for my extremely slow terraining skills.
Working on it.
Edit: Not quite done there, but here it is for someone else to work on.
Im working on it!

this will be cool :)
Working on It!
Finishing up what I started.
Edit: Done, feels like it could use something else though. So feel free to do anything to it. (the burning building with the hole in the ground.)
