I'm trying to recreate the breaching charge effect Raynor uses in the Piercing the Shroud mission. I have the Breaching charge ability set to a unit, and i have a destructible object gate in place. However when i try to place the charge on the gate, i get an error. Anybody know hot to fix this?
Playing wth this now. Have gotten it to work, but you have to get into the validators and remove the breaching charge validator. Its preventing it from being used on anything other than the campaign object
I've worked with "breaching charge" before. The ability has a few locations where it sees if the target is a valid target in order for the ability to go off. If one of these checks fail, it will give you some sort of a wrong target message or an error message. You've probably edited only the check ("Target filter") on the "ability tab" but haven't gone through each of the "effects" linked to the ability.
So, what you need to do find all "validators" attach to the "effects" of the "ability" and either clear them out or setup your target filter. To look at the effects you can either use the "view link object window" (Bottom lower left panel) or just double click on effect-effects >> "raynor - c4" and clearing out each effects validator.
thanks for the tips above. I have also a problem with that ability. I can attach the breaching charge to any object, but it does not blow up. I can see the little strokes around the bomb but when it is at 5 seconds, nothing happens. Any solution to that ?

Did you copy the ability directly from the campaign map?
BUMP, because I am trying to do the same thing and REALLY would like to know why using the Breaching Charge on destructibles just says "Error".

Ok, problem solved. It seems it doesn´t detonate on paused units. Took 3 hours to figure it out -.-
