Why everytime I duplicate an actor and attach it to an unit, it doesn't show in the editor.
Can anyone explain me how these Actors works and what is the right way to give an actor to an unit?
I Duplicated Zhakul'das Obelisk actor and changed its unitName field to the Obelisk unit
Btw I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it, I don't know anything about these actors and models on data editor
I also tried other ways, but never worked.
I would love to know what is the right and best way to give an actor to a new unit ^^
Are you also duplicating the obelisk unit? Or are you assigning your actor copy to the same obelisk?
I'm also not sure if a unit can be assigned 2 unit actors.
Oh I think I understand now. You want to make a unit that uses the obelisk doodad model. Since the actor was a "doodad actor" it wouldn't correctly link up to the unit.
In the obelisk actor, notice the "model" it is set to and remember it. Now go to a unit - let's say a zealot - and duplicate it along with its actors (and weapon/effects if you want it to be able to attack). This will preserve the "unit actor" with all its preset settings all made up already. Now go back to the actor tab and find the "zealot copy" actor that you made. Select and change its model into the model of the obelisk (or whatever else you want). I attached a map.

you need to go into the actor and change its unitName to whatever unit you want to give it to
@Thebillsta: Go
I do it everytime, still it doesn't work
whats happening? are you getting that semitransparent sphere for the model?

I'm not really duplicating the obelisk because its a doodad
I created a new unit and attached the duplicated obelisk actor/model to this newly created unit.
I also tried other models just to check if it was the Obelisk model that was bugged, but, no model works.

Well, I just changed actor and model types and parents, now I got that purple sphere in my map. At least an advance, but, what does it mean now? :P
Bump, I need help o.o
