Im using a Windows 7 computer. So i have a Galaxy Editor file in my thumbdrive and whenever I save it (using Ctrl+S), Galaxy Editor will not respond for about 1 minute and I have to wait that 1 minute before I can continue with my work. Anyone else experience this glitch? How do i fix this?
Theres no difference in the time required saving to your Thumbdrive or Harddrive?
How large is the Project file? Does it contain some abnormal amount of specific Data? Do Maps in general take long to save, or just this specific Project? What are the Specs of your Computer?
There is some specific Setting related to Saves:
Preferences > Documents > "Optimizing Saving for..." you might try if this results in any difference.
Well, since all maps save and load slowly it most likely isn't a Editor Issue.
Another reason could be a extremely fragmented, compressed or encrypted? drive (especially if the drive is holding the temp folder), but if loading and saving to either harddrive or thumbdrive is about the same this shouldn't be an Issue. Maybe your exceeding your Ram or Pagefile?
It could also be some Software conflict, especially Antivirus Scanners and similar may cause something like that. You might try to close all programs (AV scanners are sometimes nasty to close, but they should have some option to disable real time scanning) running in the background and see if this improves anything.

thumbdrive = usually slow transfer speed
large project size + thumbdrive = slow saving
fix = try to save it to a faster device e.g. hdd, ssd or maybe even a ramdisc
Ofc, there might be other reasons but this is the most obvious regarding the provided information.
Having the map on an external harddrive will do that.

Thanks for your reply, but when I save it to my computer (not thumbdrive) this problem still remains...

Thanks, I'll try it later. To answer ur questions:
- The project file isnt that large, even if I dont modify any data, it stills take a LOOOONG time to load
- Maps in general take long to save...
- Using a Core i3 Windows 7 computer

Hi, I tried changing the setting to the other option (smaller files) and there wasnt much difference
