im creating a new map since a few days and im done with the terrain and the most of the triggers and it works fine.
but now i wanted to create the objekts for the map with the data editor.
in my map there is a zerg queen which can lay eggs instead of the hatchery.
lay egg is a spell which needs mana and i want it to be better than i actually did it.
what it does atm:
i click on the spell button and an egg appears which breaks after about 5 seconds and creates a zerglich.
however there are bugs and MANY things which i want to improve - but i just don't know HOW to improve it - failed so many times and now i ask you. =)
the first thing is: when my queen casts the ability she shell play an animation like the one when the queen creates a creep tumor. xD
the egg should not appear somewhere arround her but behind her.
atm there is no duration bar for the egg which shows how much time is left until the egg will break - the blue bar, you know what i mean.^^
when the egg breaks there is a bug that the collission of the egg is still activ and i can't move out if i layed many eggs with my queen which spawned arround me...
finally when the unit is created i want not only to kill the egg - which btw does not play any animation - but i also want a nice looking special effect.
nothing big, but just some effects would be great ...
well im completely lost with this - no more ideas how to do this ...

Animation can be set in Actor > Unit > Queen > Events.
Replace your effect with a persistent effect with an xy offset of (0, something_positive) that sets off your actual egg spawn effect. This causes it to appear behind you.
Collision when dead is in the egg unit.
The egg has a behaviour in its Units > Zerg > Egg data that has a duration and kills the egg when it runs out. Find the behaviour and toggle the Countdown flags on.
See in Actor > Unit > Egg > Events if there is some sort of spawn or destroy event that causes the egg to shatter. If not, it may be on the units themselves.

Also, check out custom deaths in the egg unit actor and whether it has anything unusual that regular death doesn't have.
