but how can you build a cave right into a mountain. you can make the terrain invisible at your entrance but you can't walk through in anyways. Is there a way of doing this? Or do I have to model a whole mountain and import it?
You can also just use doodads , push their heights up and you can build a cave. You need to be creative and disable foot prints / and there is something else you can do to make it so they are invisible if your camera ever is blocked between units. Then you make a slight slop leading down or how ever you want it , to add slopes to your underground.
creating the cave isn't the problem, I have my cave (did it with alot of different doodas) it's in a mountain. you can look into the mountain and see the cave but you cant walk into it because the mountain is just invisible at the caves entrance but it's still there and blocks you from going into it but i will model it in cinema 4d now.
So basically all of this was built OUT of the editor? Like myself, I don't have the capabilities of having all of these programs, most people I think are curious if you can do this just through the game.
People saying Rock archs, Maaaaan thats just the entrance for it. You cant create a realistic "cave" using that. Even if you copy/pasted it all over. The transparency affecting 1 doodad rather than all, makes it look weird.

I think you have to model it yourself if you can't find a built-in doodad.
ok do you know how to export out of cinem 4d into sc2?
There is 1 doodadd of a cave. Think its mar sara cave or somert. Not sure if this will help you but you can have a look!

You can use the doodad "Rock arch"s to create cavern tunnels.
