im not one for bumping old posts... but if you notice above, changing the model worked for me, and others, I even did a pick and uploaded the map... however I went back today, to make minerals in the shape of "Space Platform rock formation" and for the life of me... it wont change. Even loaded the map I did for sytem, and..it not longer works for me, which means it was all chanced in a patch, How (in the actor for it) do I go about changing the graphic?
edit: seems i got it to work, changed some random thing in the actor till it finaly switched the graphic.. I hate not understanding actors yet.. but at least i got the job done.
Go into the unit's events in the actor. Then remove everything that has a term with the word 'shaders' in it. Then test and it will work.
Now the reason the map molsterr posted (think it was him) works on some machines and not others is because the mineral field changes the actor depending on the shader setting. So playing with shaders on the lowest setting would show the custom model. Playing on highest would mean that the actor would replace the model with another, higher quality mineral field. Works fine for melee maps, but really mucks up UMS maps >:(

I somewhat solved it by creating a completely new unit with no ties to the original whatsoever.

Both my brother and I have the same problem. If we change the actor or model of mineral fields, nothing happens. It's just impossible to change them.

You could simply change the graphic itself under models, that would 100% fix it...

Ok I found it myself, I had to change in the Actor of transporting minerals the model of the crystal.m3
That's because... YOU REQUIRE MORE MINERALS.
