Warning: Battle.net connection was lost
The default Battle.net host in the editor is currently not configured with the correct beta information. Before you can publish from the editor, you will need to change this setting by doing the following:
Use the File > Preferences command from any editor window
Select the Battle.net item in the list
Change the Host value to: us-beta.logon.battle.net - Or eu-beta if you are in Europe.
Click OK
Quote:
Warning: Failed to log in to Battle.net as '[email protected]' (No game accounts)
If you do have an account, you probably set the us host instead of the eu. See the previous point.

People cannot join a publicy published map
There's currently a bug where even if you publicly publish a map, it will not allow other people to join, but right now there's a workaround that will make your maps joinable.
Go to Map -> Game Variants
Add New Variant
Go to the "Game Type" tab
Select "Category" and change it to "Other" (you might need to give it a name)
Go to "Mode" and select "Other" (name it if necessary)
When Publishing the map in the File -> Publish dialog, make sure the map is set to "Unlocked" for this to work
This should make your maps joinable. Also make sure in the game lobby to change "Category" to whatever game variant you made. Now you should be able to open it to public.
Document text has unnaceptable words (or not error at all)
Make sure you don't use anything that can be related to a swear word. For example having "sniper, defend" or "suicide" will prevent you from publishing your map! Update your Map Info if that's the case.
Swear words...? Not allowed...? Aw come on, this isn't a rated E-10+ game, Blizzard!
Might as well scrap Caek RPG and Clan Nothing Arena, those have words that are apparently considered swear words to Blizzard.
I can see the point of this for intense swear words like "xxxxsucker" and "motherxxxxer", but are they going to be blocking "damn" and "crap" too?
And that 5 map limit? I can only publish 5 maps? Well, I just used up two of those already I guess. 21MB total limit? Well, forget my series of RPGs...
That limit does seem very low. Personally I'm thanking God I'm working on a team with 2 other people and will have access to 4 to 5 Cd-keys when the game comes out. That stretches our map limit by quite a bit but for everyone else especially if you are working solo that just sucks.
Hi all.
I tried publish my map, and i have 2 errors.
First error, when i even don't log in
Second error, when i loged in and i press ok to publish map
And sometimes i have error Transmission archive file. It's epic failed, i tried publish all maps, did as in tutorial, but nothing, always this... :(
I have a nooby question. Iv been tinkering away at my map, and in the hopes of one day publishing it iv been looking around at the publishing criteria. When they say that a map cant excede 10.5Mb is that the compressed size of the map, or the uncompressed size in the overview manager? I sure hope its the compressed...

Compressed. We're sure hope this limit has to be get rid of in near future
Oh thank goodness :D i was getting very worried there seeing as terrain practically consumes it all. >.< in that case im not sure how you could use all 10Mb without importing music and pics :? thanks for the answer thou
Hello folks,
I'm having abit of a problem publishing my map for testing. I am getting an error stating:
"The published name 'Just Another StarCraft II Map" is not available [English (enGB)]"
Now, I have obviously renamed the map to something different upon it's initial creation, I have edited it within the Text Editor and double checked it with the Overview Manager. Nowhere can I find a link to my map being called "Just Another StarCraft II Map".
If anybody has come across this before, or knows a resolution for it I would greatly appreciate the help.
I tried to publish my maps several times (got about 4 or 5 melee maps ready) but the upload stays on 0% and nothing happens. Anyone with the same problem?
I'm having weird issues when trying to publish my map too.
I always get into an "Your connection to battle.net has been lost" message.
Sometimes the transfering window opens, sometimes, it doesn't even show, but, everytime it opens, it already starts at 80%, then, it doesn't move for the next 2-3 minutes and then the error message appear.
I tried to delete all imported files, or better yet, I tried to import all imported files used in my map to a "dummy" map and that map is being published with no errors.
I have no idea what I have to do now.
2 months of work and now I can't publish my map, genious blizzard.
Btw, can the map have 14 players? (My map is a 6x6 with 2 computer players, total-14), but i've never seen a map with 14 player slots in any custom games. Do you guys know if the players 13 and 14 might be the reason of the publishing error?
Idk, I just don't know what else to do. T_T. (And sorry for my bad english, I don't speak it very well :P)

Thanks to Moradon for the workaround.

Rofl!? I can't use the word 'defend' in my map!? This is retarded.
'Support' also gives an error. OH NOES, I SAID SUPPORT!! OH NOES, I DID IT AGAIN
@Eldrazor: Go
Hah, that's very weird. Like they would've disabled those word on purpose aye? ;P
When I'm trying to workaround I'm getting error - no servers available. WTF?
@vjeux: Go
GATEWAY_DOWN
what does this mean? It happens when I add the music to my map. If remove it, it doesn't show up.

FYI, in most text you can use ALT+0143 for an invisible character which will seamlessly allow you to bypass any filters

Your not alone Petelectro, though I have no idea what causes it :(
I found out that it only affects the maps I started during beta.
I opened a thread about it here: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/editor-bugs-and-feedback/9049-maps-made-during-beta/
