Hi, first off sorry if this isn't the right location for this thread.
What I am wondering is if there is an easier way to share a file with a friend we are both going to be making a map together and I feel like there must be a better way other then me saving it maybe three times at a certain point and sending it to him or vice-versa. Is there a way we can have the file linked between both computer so every time he saves it will update the file on my computer too. Or just in general an easier way then saving it and having to repeatedly send it to the other person. Sorry if that was confusing.
Open the SC2Map file with an MPQ editor, extract the SC2Componemt file you need, send it to the other person to import into their MPQ.
This is what I was getting at with my original reply.
Its not really simpler then sending the map file back and forth.... but it allows you to keep working... and just import the components the other person is working on...
Will cover everything you want to do. If you need some help with setting these two up send me a PM, I manage my corporate team's Dropbox Folder with an SVN in an enterprise situation for doing exactly what you're wanting everyday.

@Doomser91: Go
not really unless you want to make it more technically challenging.
You can use a VPN program like Hamachi and save the file on a network folder. There are obvious security issues then but there are always workarounds.
You could also set up an FTP or such that you could always save to and download from to continue progress.
I think dropbox can auto-share a folder/file as well
The problems with these methods is that both users cant edit the file at the same time.... they will just overwrite eachothers changes.
This requires a lot of knowledge and stuff:
