I was looking around at the maps availible on the website but I could not find any information about if they were open or locked for editing.
I am very interested in getting my hands on a QUALITY and at least medium complexity map that is OPEN (not locked) for editing!
I am not interested in ripping off someones quality map, instead, I'm looking for possible maps to use as examples of how to set up all the triggers and various settings.
If no one is willing for such, maybe a skilled map maker would be willing to simply make a "tutorial map" that just has lots of different things going on, from the basic, to some more advanced triggers and code.
While I am learning from reading and trial and error, the way I have almost always learned how to do technical creation is by looking at someone elses work (thats how I learned to use PHP, and Flash, making websites, as well as C and java... learning only by tutorials that are incomplete is rather annoying.)
It's in alpha but it's pretty complex so you can see some of the things I did to try and keep it organized, particularly judicious use of the (Editor Prefix) field, and organizing triggers into folders/splitting them into actions and functions for reusability and to prevent any one trigger from being too large. Basic programming stuff. Anyway, I am not going to hold it up as a GREAT EXAMPLE OF WHAT TO DO, you can judge for yourself, but it's not locked for editing so feel free to open it up.
All "open to public" maps on the battle.net servers were unlocked.
Look at drive C: for *.s2ma files. Rename them to *.sc2map and open them.
Is this just during beta? That system seems silly to me, its not complex enough to be a system to stop someone from opening a map, but its a inconvenience to have to go around changing the names. Why would they not just have the editor run on .s2ma files or have the beta save them as .sc2map in the first place. :/

Thanks!
Feel free to open up and tinker around with my TD map:

all maps are unlocked because of a bug. We havn't been able to open locked maps to public.
