Is it possible to set which ability you would like to use by pressing a key, for example, "F1", and perform the ability by clicking the right mouse button?
Is it possible to set which ability you would like to use by pressing a key, for example, "F1"
In order to set a hotkey, you need a command (preferably unique) for the ability, and then you need to set that command to the abilities Execute function. Then, in the command, change Hotkey to whatever you want.
I'm trying to do something similar without success. I have hidden the standard GUI and therefore have to implement my own skill buttons. I'm wondering why there is no simple "Run Ability" action or the like which does the same as clicking on the ability button in the GUI oder pressing the hotkey. So what's the way to do? Or should I implement my skills 100% in the trigger editor without using abilities?

To make it work for a hotkey, just make a trigger to grab a "key pressed" event (don't really like these) instead of a "dialog item is clicked" event.

Event:
UI - Player Any Player clicks Left mouse button Down.
Action:
Unit - Order Marine [30.70, 31.91] to (High Templar - High Templar - Psionic Storm targeting (Point((Mouse X position clicked in the world), (Mouse Y position clicked in the world), (Mouse Z position clicked in the world)))) (Replace Existing Orders)
Change player, unit, and ability to suit your needs.
And for setting up which ability right click uses, set up an order-type variable.
Hitting F2 will be a trigger that sets X ability to your order-type variable.
Right clicking will execute that order-type variable.
Hmmm seems straightforward, bin doesn't work for me. Nothing happens, and e.g. the Psionic Storm isn't even in the list of the abilities and for most of them the command is only "cancel" (e.g. nuke). Did I fetch the wrong action?!
Okay, if I click on the "(", I can choose between different types of ability commands (I missed that somehow), and the Psionic Storm is there too. But again, nothing happens.
Any idea?

Is it possible for you to explain how I can create a new command?

Use triggers:
