Are abilities like the ones shown in the following video feasible for online play? I'm particularly concerned with mouse movement and abilities that follow the users' mouse. Sorry the video is so long. My microphone was WAY quieter than I expected (made this video a while ago for a different purpose), so you might need to crank the volume.
I've been wracking my brain thinking of fun, new games to make and I keep coming back to this working concept that was laid out so nicely. If the mouse controls ARE feasible, I feel like I'd have a fairly unique gameplay experience on my hands (as far as SC2 is concerned).
Are we sure though? Supposedly trigger hotkeys react just as quickly as data. Theoretically, the mouse controls should be as quick as hotkeys in a melee game. The question comes down to: is that quick enough for a competitive game?
I think the bigger concern is tracking the mouse co-ords in the world since we're only able to track things server-side.

This is very interesting, but yeah, this would never work online, at least not in a competitive map.
