so i want to make a button that uses an image like on the command card but have it always on screen and not on the command card. i figured out how to make a screen button but its text only. any tips?
Sounds to me like you have to make a Dialog, the button you want is gonna be a Dialog Item. I'm not entirely sure cause i've never tried an "outer button" trigger before, so i dont know if you can get a button image, but i do know you can make a solid working button on your screen that does whatever you want it to do through a dialog action sequence with some well place variables.
Easy fix. Firstly decide on the icon/image that you are after E.g. a zergling icon. Next get the location path of that icon E.g. Assets\Textures\btn-unit-zerg-zergling.dds Next when you are creating your button dialog item under the field 'button text' go into that and in the text spot use <img path=" <your location "/> E.g. <img path="Assets\Textures\btn-unit-zerg-zergling.dds"/> . Done :D everybody wins

I just open up any unit in the unit editor, go to 'set their icon' field and go through that browser. Once you find the one you want, right click copy :D

make a dialog button and then add a separate dialog item image on top of that, ive done this for a potion bar before and it works fine
U confusing me. Do u want your button to be the image of an icon? cause that is easy..
