I have the destructible gate. It's fine when it's raised, but when I lower it, it just became unselectable. So I copy-pasted the flags from the raised version and now it's selectable. But I still can't drag-select it. I wanna be able to select multiple gates at once and lower them all. Works when they're raised, but lowered.
Not sure but there's some flags or select priority to tweak as well. Combat unit has priority over building, drag over them will only select combat unit etc. Did shift-click (add unit to selection) still work on these gate ?
I have been having the same issue and think i solved why it is like this. If you have a doodad model (the *.m3 file) then you can not drag select the unit. Your lowerd gate, is it a doodad?
The solution must be to make an invisible unit and then attach a model to that only for visual effect.

Ya, shift-clicking, double clicking, ctrl clicking all work, it's just drag-selecting.

So that's definitely with priority. See how the building/unit selection priority are set and try to fix it. ( I have no editor here)

I wouldn't know where to look.

Try copy the flags from an unit like marine instead ? If that is hardcoded, then try to change the object type from destructible to unit or structure
@progammer: Go
The 'Based on' thing is greyed out, yet not for the other, and it says it's based on the unit it morphs from. So it can't be that.
