Been quite a reader on these forums lately as I've tried to learn the editor with moderate success so far. Big question if anyone may be able to help please though... I'm trying to use the +100 Minerals and Gas Pallets to give a bonus to the player who comes across them much like in the Campaign Level "The Great Train Robbery".
I've tried copying the data from that level and pasting the item into my map but it just gives me the movement data only and there seems to be no way to copy the actions or trigger data. Even clicking on the item (unit) itself and pasting onto my map just leaves a blank spot with the selection ring around it. Really, I'm surprised they've made copying and pasting so difficult with this editor. Does anyone know how please?
I've tried copying any pasting every aspect of "powerup" items, but nothing happens when a unit moves over it. For now I've been using periodic events to detect when a unit is over an item, which has been a bitch so far.
For your blank spot issue, the problem is that some of the data for the pellets isn't on the map you're making. From what I can make out, each piece of data in SC2 uses several other pieces of data to function. To have your piece of data in its entirety, you must copy every other bit of data the pellets are linked to. (What's causing your blank spot issue is the data for the pellet's model hasn't been copied over.)
Good luck finding a solution, powerup items would make my Pacman port a LOT easier to design.
There are two ways to get the mineral pallet into your game.
The first is to enable the following dependencies in this order:
Libery (Campaign)
Liberty Story (Campaign)
Liberty (Mod)
Liberty Multi (Mod)
This will allow you to place the mineral pallet on your map sans issue - it will function as normal.
However, you could also copy the mineral pallet to your map (if you don't want the campaign dependencies).
To do this, you would have to have two maps open simultaneously - your map, and a campaign map (let's say Horner01, for example).
To get the mineral pallet onto your map, you would have to do a lot of copy and pasting.
You would have to copy the Mineral Pallet Unit and all of its linked units (the effects, the buttons, the sounds, everything). Not only this, but you have to go to each and every link and copy all of their dependencies, too (i.e. the actor Floating Text Minerals100 has a link to the effect Pickup Minerals100). You would have to make sure that you copy all of the dependencies. It's a serious pain.
Hey Beast! Thanks very much for the reply. It's nice of you to take the time to write out such a lengthy explaination when simply saying you'd rather not prefer to try to copy / paste would do.
Tell you what - I did exactly that with the dependencies and it worked great. I got both the gas and mineral pallets to show up and work correctly but that actually created another problem.
if I have multiplayer follow the Campaign modes, I found when testing that for example, my Protoss units couldn't use chrono boost or have the Gateways transform into warp gates. It seems to lock down to what could be done by the Protoss in single player mode.
I tried ordering things Liberty (Multi) > Liberty (Multi Mod) > Liberty (Campaign) > Liberty (Campaign Story Mode), but that just screws up the order with my map even more and makes stuff well, broken.
Is there a way I can still use the palletes aside from the dependency or am I stuck having to copy and paste a lot? ;)
I am having trouble with this, but on (what i believe to be) a slightly different asspect. I can get the Mineral Pallets to show up (scrap, mineral, gas. they all appear).
My problem is, that they only work for Me (Player 1), I have watched numerous AI players, have units walk right through the pickup, and nothing happens.
Greetings everyone,
Been quite a reader on these forums lately as I've tried to learn the editor with moderate success so far. Big question if anyone may be able to help please though... Thanks for the help in advance.

Therefore, I recommend the first method.
Hope this helps.

I would love suggestions on how to fix this.
