It's a start, but you need to think a bit larger. Why combine 2 textures in a specific area when you have 8 at your disposal? You can easily go for 3-4 and throw some cracked dirt in there too. Whenever I try to create an accessible-looking rocky area myself, I tend to add clumps of 3-4 textures, with the rock texture and any kind of 'cracked dirt' being most prevalent while 'normal dirt' and some kind of soft grass/brush are less obvious.
Err, yeah... currently your map looks like it has acne. You can't just toss black rocks around at random with only brown dirt around it. Try adding patches of grass along the cliffside or in clutches, as on the blizzard map. Also, combine the textures. Make them flow over in eachother instead of adding random circles of one texture over the dirt.
It's really more the textures in general. Whereas the previous picture looked like your map had acne, this picture looks like your map simply has a bad skin. Take another look at the screenshots you made of 'The Dig'; you'll want all textures to flow over in eachother and never have an area where you can clearly only see *one* texture.
