so i made massive units Crush any light unit but now any light unit will run toward Crusher unit and get killed even the ones with ranged attack will stop attacking and run toward crusher unit.
i didnt have this problem before installing LOTV whats the problem? :/
First of all sry for very late answer, i have a VERY busy life and i hardly find free time for my own fun, so right now i got 2 free days and i wana work on my map again,
@greythepirate
Sry my map is WAY to big and use to many dependencies right now, but to explain the situation fully.
Long ago durring HOTS expansion when i was making my map i saw a guide to how to make a units with a specific attribute Crush another unit with another attribute by simply moving over/close on it!
So i made Massive attribute to be able to crush light attribute (units with massive ATT can crush units with light ATT)
it did work great and just like i wanted!
but long time later when LOTV was released i did converted my map to LOTV version for all new assets, then the problem occurred.
The problem was that now all light ATT (AI controled)units will run toward massive ATT units like a suicide run and kill them selfs!
Now the bigger problem is i cannot remember anything about where i did learn about crushing system or even what was it! well im sure its nor Behavior neither is Trigger! because i dont have such a trigger and its about Attribute so its not behavior!
So any tip or help will be far more than great! right now this totally ruined my 2 years of modding and i have no clue how to fix it!
thanks in advance!
The only thing I could figure out on the fly, was how forcefields get crushed by massive units:
The target unit has an ability (Shatter), which automaticly targets massive units and plays an effect which kills the caster. Plus some autocast stuff... maybe target sorts.
If you gave all your light units that ability, it would have the effect you described. If this is how you did it, you could go through the flags of the ability, because it might be possible, they run towards the massive units attempting to cast the shatter ability. Or play with the prepare and approach phases, I am not too sure here.
hmm i doubt thats the case since i didnt touch every single light unit i do remember i did made light attribute to be crushable, but its worth a look.
lol i cant believe im the only person who made Crush system and no one else have any clue how to make or break it xD

umm about which part? im talking about crushing system which allow a unit to kill another type of unit by simply moving over it
How is your crushing system set up?

Is your "crushing system" behavior and search effect base? Triggers with attached regions? We know nothing about your map or your system.
Attaching your map could also help debug the problem.

Sorry for the late reply, didn't see it earlier.

The problem is not so much, that nobody knows how to make a crush system, but that people know how many ways of making are there.
Inspired by how blizz made sentry fields crushable (and what others suggested before), I can think of a few possible solutions:
- Ability on the side of the crushed unit
- Ability on the side of the crusher
- Weapon of the crusher
- Weapon of the crushable unit
- Behavior based system for either crusher or crushed witha search effect
- trigger-based on the event "unit enters/leaves range of unit"
this is really nice to read..informative post is very good to read..thanks a lot.
