I was wondering is there a way how to enable structure placement grid like we see ingame, when placing a command center or hatchery or nexus?
I could possibly place minerals/geysers around a nexus but it it very repetitive to test over and over for each mineral line.
As you can see from the image, some mineral fields are too near the nexus.
I got this of the web but for melee maps theres only one way to do this.

add footprint - placement to the building.

I think that what you're looking for is the option "show placement grid (ctrl+shift+H)". It's under the view tab in the terrain editor.
