Basically what the title says, about half of the maps that I have made (no noted size or date coalition, others made that I am working on are fine) will no longer open, they get to loading map data then the editor freezes up. It seems like it works occasionally but unpredictably and is really annoying.
My Koprulu: Legacy Extension mod, which requires a bnet connection, but it loads the required dependency fine, its at the "loading mod data" stage when it crashes. And one project which I don't wa to reveal yet, but is offline, very few custom assets and no wierd triggers:
I'll Post K:L here, its available on bnet so its not like I am giving it up
(by here I mean a drive link, its 7Mib too big for a post)
Okay so I can edit them now. But when I published and test in game they don't load... and theres no bugs. The editor must be screwing up the files, because changing the HP value of a marine by one breaks the game..
3 years of work on a mod in what spare time I have goes down the drain because of a bug, so stupid. It let me publish, it worked, but something broke and now the published versions of both crash, and I cannot open either to fix a bug that isn't caused by me. FU blizz,
Are you using the MAC operating system? If so, that is your problem.
Mostly, it seems as though your dependency files are the ones with issues. Are they updated and uploaded to battle.net? in the editor, do you have it set to use the local file, or the battle.net file? remove the local link, and use only the battle.net one. Pretty sure you have a different local file from battle.net file.
No one else has reported an issue like this, so it is most likely something you did, and not something blizzard did. Backtrack through your work to figure it out.
ok, the map doesnt open because of the abil.xml. it's 400mb.
dependencies are ok. removing the abil.xml the map works just fine.
you now have the option to either redo all abilties / fix your abil.xml / replace with old version
