Yeah it's just my computer having huge GB of space and folders, too complex for a "complex" editor to handle.
Not sure about defraging my computer, because it takes ages to get it done and will only temporarily fix the speed of the pc (eventually you'll mess it up again).
What I really mean is if you "browse" it on a large large area, like the C:\ drive, that made it go bonkers (Freezes).
I think what happens is that it tries to load ALL the files and folders it is counting, but can't count 100GB worth of files.
Anyone know the way to just "reinstall" the editor by changing the "default" open path it has?
Because mine is stuck at C:\ and I only need to redirect it somewhere else.
It happens if you select a folder with many subfolders and files in it. The editor parses through all of them and that can sometimes.. take a while.
When I'm trying to open my pictures folder in the import editor I have the same.. it needs about 10 seconds to get all the images checked.
What you can try is to change the name of the directory it's currently pointing to. When you open the editor again, it usually switches back to a default folder. After that you can change the name back.
Simple solution with regedit:
Delete the "Recent Directory" registry key:
\\\Registry\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\StarCraft II Editor Beta\Recent Files\Recent Directory - Open and Save Documents
<small>If that's not enough, delete the entire "Recent Files" registry folder:
\\\Registry\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\StarCraft II Editor Beta\Recent Files\
<small>And if that still doesn't fix it, delete the entire StarCraft II Editor Beta registry folder: (This will reset all your editor preferences to default though.)
\\\Registry\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\StarCraft II Editor Beta\</small></small>
Especially core areas of your computer, like the C:\ Drive...
Now my editor fails and freezes each time i try to open it.
It's probably doing too much complex stuff when you choose a folder to look in, and if you choose a core hard drive it breaks.
I got it on my core hard drive too...no problems here. Maybe it's time for a defrag?

I've got SC2 on a 1TB drive with well over 800GB of garbage on it, and I have never experienced this. Might I suggest a reinstall?

Time for a new computer bud.
I never use this open feature as it takes a while to open the popup (like 1 or 2 real minutes!) I always double click on the map.
