ok, my question is not how is this done
i have transfered all my triggers into a library which resides in a mod file. all my maps use thihs mod file and also load the trigger library and everything is great. the problem is.
when i open a map that uses the mod/library it takes FOREVER to load the triggers. it sits on a phase "Validating Trigger Data". takes about 2-3 minutes.
i guess what im curious about is if this process is really neccesary? can i skip it somehow?
it really slows me down, although not as much as having to use MPQ exporting to transfer triggers over all maps. i'd like to speed up my updating process even more :)
I can't even make it to this step. Trying to paste Galaxy code from an external editor makes the editor hang....even if i copy a few lines at a time it takes *forever*...like 10 seconds *per line* and I have 10,000 lines of code. wtf.
Fastest method I've found for cross-map modding is put all assets in a mod and make that a dependency. Then just copy/paste all triggers at once. It seems the editor doesn't validate the triggers like it does with a library and what takes longer is actually opening/saving/closing 8 maps in a row, not the copy/paste of triggers into each.
@jcraigk:
you might have better luck MPQ editing the mapscript file and pasting your galaxy code into it.
also i have kind of solved this problem
basically with the trigger library in the mod. i make whatever changes i want to it and then export it. then delete it from the mod. then edit my maps.
later when i want to publish i redo the process. import the library to the mod. publish the mod. remove the library from the mod. publish the maps.
works fine. just have to remember to reset the library ID everytime i import it
