We ran into a small problem today, where a map failed to open for Wargirl after saving it. The rest of the team could open it just fine. Each time she tried to open it, she got the following error: "Unable to open archive (files are missing from your Starcraft II installation.)"
Here's the fix we found:
1. Copy the map file.
2. Search for the .temp file that the editor automatically backs up.
3. Copy that file elsewhere.
4. Delete the file.
5. Open the map!
Your mileage may vary—always be sure to back up both the map and the .temp file.
Thank you for taking the time to help me. This problem of losing a map had me worry thinking of starting over, it could have been a disaster and time consuming. Thank you! I hope this bad experience helps other.
