Hello,I have created six custom races. I want two of them to have the Protoss console, two have the Terran console and two have the Zerg console.I read old threads and old tutorials but they say the method is outdated.Any advice on where to start..?
Save your map as a components file and create a file called Assets.txt under base.SCdata/GameData. Then have these lines in the txt file.
UI/ConsoleModelCommandPanel_XXXX=Assets/UI/Console/N.m3
UI/ConsoleModelInfopanel_XXXX=Assets/UI/Console/N.m3
UI/ConsoleModelMinimapPanel_XXXX=Assets/UI/Console/N.m3
Where the xxxx is the Attribute ID of your custom race and N is your model file name assuming you imported them under that path. It must be the full file path on the right side of the = sign and you need to repeat this for each race.

Yes. The Assets file gets incorporated into the map when you next save it as a map file again.
