Duping some units causes problems in that the text key for the name does not dupe properly. There are also some examples where values for campaign abilities have been hard coded so they ignore what you modify it to. In general I make new units from scratch.

No if you made the unit from scratch renaming it should cause no problems. Only changing the name of actors might mess up the actor events of some actors if they are targeting the actor by ID.
Best make your widow mine from scratch.

The reason I wonder is because I have changed the name of a couple of original units in the editor. Now I have built new versions of them from scratch. I consider to reset the original units to their starting settings, but if there is a risk that reset can cause any issues, I will just let them be

Oh ok, so even if I change the name of a unit I already created, it might mess something up?
For example, if I create a unit called Soldier from scratch and then I rename it to Knight, it might cause problems?
