So I decided to remake the old "Farmer vs. Hunter" map from WC3, if someone can recall this beauty.
The problem i ran into is, that i can't make the trees unattackable by the hunter team. Only the Farmer team should be able to. I figured out how to make trees attackable and such but I can't find an option to either make the trees on the team with the hunters and disable shared vision nor I can't find an option to modify the hunters so they can only attack the Farmers.
Not sure if this would work if you are using other types of invulnerable units, but there is a flag on a weapon to allow it to attack invulnerable and you can make the trees invulnerable.
Ok, so I found a solution for this but thanks for your advice anyway. If anyone wonders how to do what I asked for here is how to do it.
If you go to a specific unit via Data(F7) navigate to the Field "(Basic) Ability: Abilities +" and modify the value. You can choose from 4 Attack abilities here. Choose "War3AttackPlusTree" and you're set.
That's convenient. How do you make sure that your trees are actually coded in as trees though, so it works? I assume you had to make unique tree units from scratch and just used the tree .m3 model for them?
Well, since I don't use the trees for gathering at all(they are just there to be chopped for the one team to make pathways) I simply used all the "Lordaeron" trees there is and set their life to 1HP

So how are the hunter vs farmer units different? Sounds like you are going to have to use buffs with a caster history like the liberator.
The shared visions sounds like a trigger issue with player groups.
