I'm trying to make the HERC grapple ability to target air units, but the grapple stick to the ground instead of attaching on the unit, whereas the HERC launches itself to the correct spot.
I've try to change the Host Operations Site, but I couldn't manage to succeed.
Maybe you could try to duplicate that ability tto target only air units. Or... In the ability's Effects, you could try changing everything related to Target Point to Target Unit. This is just my suggestion, so make sure to back up your file first if you're willing to test this.

I already try this. Well, not chaning ALL the Effects I must admit. I'll try with all the effects changed.
Yes the grapple missile is hugging the ground, and the beam behind it too.
Well it is starting from the the arm of the HERC so its not hugging the ground for the duration but it is moving towards the ground.
Sounds like the Action actor for the ability is not working probably due to some duplication error adding a number to the end of an Id when it should not.

No the actor is properly created because I see everything I should see, just not in the right place.
I think I know what is causing the issue. The Grapple is creating a Placeholder, which might be only ground unit, and I think that the grapple impact is created on that unit.
Ok the ability is set up that it creates a dummy unit at the target point location that it then launches the missile to (because missiles bug if they impact the ground). You need a Switch effect validated for if it targets a unit that it just uses the Launch Missile effect directly.

Is the grapple missile hugging the ground?

I have not duplicated the Ability. I'm editing the original.
Just double check because when trying to edit the original of some mods it just causes a copy to be made.

How can I know if it's duplicate or not?
Currently everything is blue with the correct name like nothing was changed.
Except the effect that allows me to target units obviously, but the actors are in blue and have correct name and id.
So if shot from on top of a cliff the missile just flies straight and does not drop with the cliff?

No it goes straight to the Unit's center point, on the ground.
Even if the unit is flying
Then the Action actor is bugging for some reason causing it to not be created.

Thanks for your help!
So it does not originate from the origin point of the unit on the ground and then move to the target along the ground?

I deleted every effects that is related to the placeholder and switched the first effect directly to the LM effect and it worked perfectly!
Thanks for the help
