Is it possible to create a requierment that checks a units level and only allow the unit to upgrade, lets say its weapon once per level?
For exampel I have one upgrade that add bonus to the range of the weapon and one upgrade that adds a crit chans to the weapon, but I need the hero to only be able to select one of these per level.
The Modify Player effect can add upgrades. You could probably use charges added by a Modify Unit effect in the level up effect the veterancy behaviour to control an Augment ability to add your upgrades.

I would imagine it working if you compare the upgrade level with the veterancy level. Well that is assuming the upgrade is performed by the same unit which owns the veterancy!
Otherwise make the veterancy upgrade a dummy player wide upgrade to the veterancy level. This upgrade is known as "Hero Level". One can then test the level of your weapon upgrade with the dummy Hero Level upgrade. This solves the problem with veterancy being unit specific as upgrades are player wide.
Oh, I made the unit gain sertain preselected behaviours or abilities when leveling up. It takes away the option to decide for yourself but I think it works ok.
