Hey all,
was just curious is there anything i can do about stopping the units death models from decaying?! like can i slow down and animation mid animation to finish the scene without them disappearing?! thx for the help
under the Units data type there is a field Stats - Death Time this determines how long after unit death the unit remains to be revived before it is removed.

Does that stats also determine how logn the unit is stored in the game? for exable when u use hero respawn . if that seting is set to 1 ( insted of 99999 ) it will only store your hero for 1 sec meaning when he respawns he losses his lvls and points/equipment and what ever???
you just solved the bigges mistery of my map! thanx LMAO!!!
i coulndt understand why this stuff wasnt worrking after my the tutorials and stuff , i guess they failed to menshion this or i simply missed the 2 sec it took for him to say it lol.
There are tutorials that say it clearly. If that was the biggest issue your map has then it probably wont be that great unless you put alot of effort into it
Hey actually this is not what i asked about.. i am trying to get the MODEL to stop dissapearing.. for example i am doing a scene where two zerglings get killed and i DO NOT want their corpses to dissapears.. they disolve away and that is part of the animation is there a way to make it so that the units corpse stay on the ground like for exapmple pausing an animation half way thru?!?! can i change aniomation speeds on the fly in the middle of animations...

hmmm if it's for a cinematic, perhaps you could make a trigger that when you press a certain hotkey, calls the actors of those zerglings, and pauses their current animation?
if you set their anim speed to 0 it pauses. There's probably a way to get their current time within their animation and pause accordingly as well.
Ya, what EchoedRequier said is your best bet if it is for cinematic.
However, if you want it for actual game play, I would look at the terrazine tanks from the campaign that never disappear and figure out how their animations work. Then simply duplicate it for the zergling.
If the decay is part of the animation, you can go into the editor and chop off the end of the animation, making it so that they never disappear. However, if you do that, make sure they aren't deleted from memory, because then they will just disappear with no dissolve animation when they are deleted.

well i have other problems but i know how to fix them . i just couldnt figuer out why my hero espawn was buged. the map it self is looking awsome!! this is gona be my best map yet . ( 7vs 7 ) 3rd persone Arena battle. im just missing triggers ( cause i dunno what im doign with triggers ) and haff the actors on my spells dotn work ( but im just starting NOW to elarn about actors. ive only been playing with the editor for like 6months . still a newby
If you still haven't solved your problem you could look at the CruiserQuadPhysicsDeath (Unnamed)Model, it last forever. I haven't looked into it, just noticed it. Maybe it helps :)
Maybe if you could alter the death animation, and simply cut away the evaporation scene. It seems the cruiser death, doesn't have this, so it stays in the map forever.

If set to -1 it is forever if set to 1 he will be unable to be revived after 1 second.
