the only thing i can make it do is hit unit/point but not one or the other, meaning if i use the ability on a unit thats moving and they dont move out of range enough but moves out of the way of the shot, it hits the ground visually but also deals damage to the unit even if it visually doesnt.
My question is, Is there a way to make it hit a target point, and if a unit is in the way of that point make it hit the unit instead?
Im not great with ability's but ive tried to follow a few different tut's like fireballs or similar things of the sort using missiles but i cant ever get them to work like a sniper, i use a sniper mover i made thats pretty much the same as the railgun sniper mover...but the mover isnt the problem its the attachments, even though i leave it on weapon00 center it still shoots from my units foot, any help getting me in the right direction for making a sniper shot like ability would be awesome and appreciated.
So you want something like raynor snipe, but it should stop at the first target and not hit any additional ones?
Well, you could take Raynor Snipe as a base, and include a Destroy Persistent for the impact effect, which would stop the execution of the persistent.
For the animation, you would need effects to indicate, when a beam should be created at the ground, and when to the unit. You could create a beam for the impact effect and one for the expire effect of the persistent, if it is not destroyed.
