Mayby it's a stupid question, but I have a problem with creating special abillities for my buildings. The question is: It is possible to make structures blinking? Or making cloacked like a ghost? If yes - how could I do that?

and yes it is possible.
for the cloack . what you need is :
im gona keep it simple and make you cheat a little.
- Make a new ability type : Effect - instant
- make a new button : cloak
( find the ghost cloack ability , and remove the behaviour it has )
go back to your ability you created. add the Ghost cloack behaviour. go to command +: add the button
go to your tower , add your new ability to the ability + field.
- for the blink , im not sure if its gona work on the building . worst case AGAIN , just duplicate the blink ability ( i sugges remaking it and just copy the stats frtom the original )
on your tower you MIGHT need to REMOVE the foot print . and change is category to UNIT . then change movement speed to 0 , so he cant move . but your gona losse your build foot print .
of try it with out remopving the foot print , see if it works. i havent tryed this soo.
The cloacking's working good! Thank's a lot. The blinking still causes problems - I changed the category of building - where I can now eliminate the foot print of the structure?
select the structure in the data editor ( top left )
at the bottom left part of the data editor , make sure you slect the top thing ( so you can see ALL the tower stats ,) in the search field top right type in: foot print . it should pop up 3 foot prints ( 2 of them being used ) remove them. change it to (nothing)
if that doesnt work. the only other thing i can think of is:
ad a build option to the tower ( like a probe/scv ) that builds the tower ( boost the range to what ever distance ) and add a kill unit effect ( look at the salvige bunker effect )
this will basicly make your tower build a new tower just like it and at the same time destroy the existing building ( sorta like a blink :P ) lol
Unfortunately, I found the footprints and it's still doesn't work. :( My nexus now for example is jumping when I hit them with the hybrid shockwave - lol. :) The second way that you propose it's possibile but is it not give the "blinked structure" the max stats? For example - the life or the shields of the "blinked" building will be different then it was in the "after blink" structure, is it? :(

im at work now . ill look into it when i get home see if i can find a way to blink structures. but i think i remember some one posting about that some where in the forum . and they have solved it . not sure where doh.
The hybrid shockwave is an unfinished ability that hits everything nearby, including structures. Just filter out structures under it's search effects and it'll stop making your nexusususus bounce.
ok so , i dunno whats going on , but i simply added the blink , took out foot print . change a couple setings and it works fine.
here is the map . look at the nexus it self you might have forgoten to do something.
type in : a (space) to find my nexus.
EDIT: if lacking the footprint is not good ( meaning players can build it almost any where ) not much u can do about that Unless you figuer out a trigger that ADDS a foot print to a unit after it uses a ability. but im not a trigger guy sorry :S

hybrid shock wave is a unfinish ability??? how so?
Never heard about it. When nexus is a structure nothing happens, so I think "bouncing" was an effect of changing nexus from building to a unit.
Still I don't discover how to create that blinking. :) I'll be glad for your hep Selfcreation only if you have enough time. :)
