Does anybody know if its safe to create a map/mod with ALL the dependancies in the editor? Do some of them comflict heavily with others? Are there any dangers of just morphing together an already existing mod on the latest LotV dependancy with everything else?
And colors. What do the colors of text in the Editor mean?
I've noticed that after modifing a unit for instance, its text will turn from blue to green. That means I myself modified it - i know this much. But I've recently discovered things with their text red, for some obnoxious reason.
I did not touch these files at all, and I own almost all of the content of SC2, with the exception of Commander Abathur and the soon to arrive Stukov.
So what is going on? Is it safe to bash together all of the dependancies? What do red colored units/effects/things represent and are there more colors?
Yes you can add all dependancies into one map. The conflicts are mostly with regards to unit stats. For example, if you add multi and campaign dependancies together, you'll get Zerglings with stats from both. The lings will still work fine, but they won't be identical to multiplayer nor the campaign. It's a minor issue in most cases.
Colors indicate what has modified the data entry.
White/grey = Unmodified
Blue = Modified by Blizzard
Green = Modified by current map
Orange = Modified by a non-Blizzard mod dependancy
It's fine to do but remember the loading times will also increase accordingly with each dependency that you add, so expect a loading time of anywhere from 3-5 mins plus extra time depending on how many objects you have pre-placed on your map.
