I imported a custom dds picture that appears just fine in the interface.
However when I try to make it the icon of an active ability the borders dont show. I tried to use a different icon for the same ability and the borders show clearly. It appears that my custom icon refuses to have borders. I tried to change the path and the name to be similar to other active ability icons but it doesn't change the outcome. So how can I make my custom icon have showing borders for the ability?
Did you use Paint.NET or a similar program to create the transparent regions? You have to do so and save it from there as a .dds file for the icon to work properly.
I see. I did it with photoshop. I'll try out with paint.net.
EDIT: That worked! Thank you so much to the both of you. I consider my problem solved.
Upon further research I realized it's actually just the first 6 pixels around the edges that needs to be transparent. Makes sense since the images are 76 pixels yeah? It's only a theory but my guess is that icons were supposed to be 70x70 pixes, with 6 additional to make the borders.

Thank you very much for looking into this!
replace black with transparent, downsize the actual image but keep the image size 76x76, so that borders can be seen.
Didn't work for me. The transparency appears bright white and there are no borders :/
The image remains at 76x76.
