Hey All-

Looking to go about creating ability standard launch missile ability, however, I'd like for the ability to do more damage the more mana the caster has used. I've got everything covered, aside from the ability doing more damage the more mana the caster is missing. Anybody able to lead me in the right direction? Thanks.

Alrighty, without actually making it myself, here's what I think you should do:

- Remove all damage from the ability, but keep the Damage effect and have it apply.

Use this trigger:

Events
        Unit - Any Unit takes Fatal or Non-Fatal Any damage (from YOUR DAMAGE EFFECT HERE effects

Local Variables
        Energy Missing <Real>

Actions
        Set Energy Missing = Arithmetic(Real)((Damaging unit) Maximum Energy (Current) - (Damaging unit) Energy (Current))
        Environment - Deal damage using YOUR DAMAGE EFFECT HERE on (Triggering unit) from (Damaging unit) with {YOUR DAMAGE CALCULATION HERE} extra damage.

This should do it. For your damage calculation, go to the Expression tap. You can use A~ somewhere to put in a variable.

EpsilonAlpha's method is the bet one since it's impossible to do variable damage like that using data.

One thing you have to be careful of when using Epsilon's method is whether or not the damaging unit is actually the caster. In the case of skillshot abilities where you have a missile searching for targets around itself to do damage to, the missile will actually end up being the damaging unit in all likelihood.

You could have multiple dmg effects and use validators to enable them based on remaining energy.

That's a rather limited and tedious way of doing things that I really don't recommend.

How will the ability use the values assigned to Energy Missing? I've got them setup but I don't see where Energy Missing is being used?

You can also do this with attributes such as the ones you see in MOBAs, such as Strength, Agility, Intelligence, etc...
