Alright so for the community project, which this time around is a TD, we are going to need some towers. Now for this one I have done most the planning out of the towers. Basically this weeks WDE is your going to be recreating a tower of the specifications I give, you can use what ever effects you like and I ask that the Advanced Data workers take up the more advanced towers to let the people that don't know the data editor in and out to have a shot at the easier towers for the community project. There may be a future exercise where we create some more unique towers, but not at this time. I will be leaving this exercise up for a while, as there are a fair few towers to be created. You can create more than one tower, but give others a chance to make some as well.
If you are going to create a tower, please just make a post saying "I am making advanced tower #1 (or whatever number)" This is just to stop several people making the same one, and their hard work not being used. If after 1-2 Days they have not posted their work, I will then open up that tower for someone else to work on. So keep an eye on first post, I will do my best to keep it updated with who is working on what and what has been completed.
Don't worry to much about the damage of your weapon, just focus on the effects and functionality of it, I will be scaling all the damage when I confine them into one map to balance with the creeps.
Cause we are trying to make a polished TD, I cannot promise that your tower won't be edited on after you have submitted it, you will still be credited for the work you created on the tower you make :)
Things to remember:
Towers don't move
Units made into towers should act like turrets (face the direction they are shooting)
Just create your tower in a new map, I will confine them into a new map later
Beginner Towers
Tower 1
Unit: Hydra
Modification: projectile can hit two targets, but projectile must die after 4 range
Tower 2
Unit: Pylon
Weapon: Freezes all units nearby for 1 seconds
Weapon Cooldown: 3 seconds
Tower 3
Unit: Pylon
Weapon: Freezes all units nearby for 1 second and permanently slows movement speed by 50% hereafter
Weapon Cool down: 3 seconds
Tower 4
Unit: Marauder
Weapon: Shoots its standard weapon at target point, if it hits a creep, it will explode and damage all units in 1 range
Weapon Cool down: 1.5 Seconds
Tower 5
Unit: Marauder(Dominion marauder)
Weapon: Same weapon as above but need to modify the projectile speed so it is 50% faster
Weapon Cool down: 1.5 Seconds
Tower 6
Unit: Point Defense Drone
Weapon: Shoots projectiles out in 8 SET directions (think N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W,NW) when a target is in range, range is 4, each projectile can only hit one target
Weapon Cool down: 2 seconds
Tower 7==== (Exaken -completed)
Unit: Infestor
Weapon: Shoots corruption onto a target, this target is slowed by the corruption for 5 seconds, tower shouldn't shoot a unit all ready affected

Weapon: Shoots a ball (might require some work on getting a ball to make it looks like its rolling) that can hit a max of 10 targets in a straight line at target point

Tower 2==== (kueken -completed)
Unit: Mule
Weapon: See tower above, except shoots 3 balls next to each other
Tower 3==== (thealmaity -completed)
Unit: Pylon
Weapon: Slows units in range for 1 second, Slows permanently for 50% hereafter and also has a 25% chance to instantly kill a unit
Weapon Cool down: 3 seconds
Tower 4==== (aczchef)
Unit: Point Defense Drone
Weapon: Shoots fire out in 8 SET directions (think N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W,NW) when a target is in range, range is 4, each flame can hit up to 3 targets
Weapon Cool down: 1.5 seconds
Tower 5==== (Borgdragon -completed)
Unit: Ghost Academy Building
Weapon: Shoots nukes at a target location, chosen by the owner of the unit. ( this one may be fairly tricky to pull off) the location also needs to be able ot be changed.
Weapon Cool down: 5
Tower 6
Unit: Zealot
Weapon: Boomerang tower, hits a total of 3 units, range of the weapon should go in an arch about 3 range
Cooldown, 1 second after boomerang returns
Tower 7
Unit: Zealot
Weapon: Boomerang tower, hits a total of 7 units, range of the weapon should go in an arch about 3 range
Cooldown, 1 second after boomerang returns
Tower 6
Unit: Zealot
Weapon: Boomerang tower, hits a total of 15 units, range of the weapon should go in an arch about 3 range

also, about Advanced Tower 5(Nuke tower)... I believe, depending on the exact mechanics you are looking for, that it would be rather easy to have a chosen target location.
Does this tower shoot continuously on its own every 5 seconds, or only when there's a target nearby, or is it independently triggered by the owner for a little nuke micro?
I'm working on Beginner Tower 7! Also, shouldn't tower 9 be 2 units instead of 20?
Edit: Yay, I'm done! The tower is called Infestruptor, mix bewteen the Infestor and the Corruptor. The tower only shoots when there are targets that are not corrupted.
It should automatically shoot when targets are in the target point range. and that point should be able to be moved when the owner of the building wants to move it.

Question: Will there be a limit of 1 nuke tower per player? If not, I need someone to explain markers. I can NOT for the life of me understand how they work, and I believe they will be required if there's more than 1 Nuke Tower. Ugh.
im having some troubles with mine it suppose to shoot in 8 directions instead it shoots at 8 targets (or less) in stead of just shooting i mean it looks cool but its not the requirement
i do then i have the rest work like the hellion form like my 8 point create another persistent at each point and it attacks but it like seeks em out the second persistent has a search of .15 the does the damage but if i set the second persistent to the damage it attacks one unit
Consider my Tower Completed!! It's so awesome, LOL. I just gotta add sounds and tweak the "nuke blast" size, but I have to go to work!! Argh!! Tomorrow morning, video and map will be posted.

Note the decend sound, when a new ball is forming ;). Took me quite a while to find a matching sound.
