I tried to attach an actor to another one, with the following specifications:
it should be attached (obviously), so it should follow the actor it is attached to
it should not rotate with the actor; it should keep a specific angle
I assumed, this would be pretty easy; since you could just use a site operation and in the SOp menu, check the hold rotation option. However, this does not seem to have any effect.
In fact, I did not manage to get my desired behavior. I tried creating new site operations of different types, modifying the angle in the actor events etc etc. but the results were always the same: Either the actor got de-tached and did not follow anymore, or it did keep rotating.
Come on, that's just unfair. I did the exact same thing in my map, and it didn't work :(
Well, thank you :)
€ if I create a new SOp exactly like yours, it does not work, the actor still rotates. If I copy your SOp from your map, it works. If I copy all fields of your SOp to mine, it still doesn't work. The editor hates me :(
Hey

Does anyone have an idea?
@Kueken531: Go
Have you tried using the origin attachment point with a local offset?
Is this what you mean?
Yep
Come on, that's just unfair. I did the exact same thing in my map, and it didn't work :(
Well, thank you :)

Maybe something changed after 1.3. that map is made pre-1.3.
I'll see if I can recreate the actor later when I have some time.
how amny patches are out there that fix bugs made from previous patches
