so I'm makin this persistent that fires instantly along a line, like raynor's snipe, but I want it to only affect each unit once. As it stands now, it overlaps and hits every unit multiple times, but if I take out the overlap by changing the arc, it no longer covers the whole line. Since the whole line is dealt at the same time, I cant add a delay to check if the units already been hit or anything like that :S so I want to make each search only be able to target units that haven't been searched in the other ones.

Use markers. Open the Markers+ field for the persistent effect and check Match Flags - Id. Also add the No Marker validator to the effect executed by the search.
