I'm trying to rig a marine to deal damage to all units in a line out to as far as it can fire, and i have the damaging in a line down. However, the issue I'm currently having is that it's applying the damage effects multiple times for units caught in the line (2 or 3 times depending on on where in the line they fall). Is there a way to force the damage effect to only be applied once per unique unit in the AoE per weapon firing?
have it apply a nonstacking behavior instead. the behavior may be very short, it only have to last as long as the line takes to fly by. the behavior deals the dmg on expire
The only issue i can think of is that if you get a bunch of my marine units to fire at once, then it will only deal one shot's worth of damage :/
Edit: NVM, just using maximum stack count per caster will fix that :P
Now for the bonus question: why is the Marine attack launch model playing on the weapon attachments for all hit units? Changing the attack actors to use explicit launch and impact effects didn't help.

All hit units? You mean on impact of the effect its showing a muzzle flash? Did you get your launch model and impact model map fields mixed up?
Otherwise my gut is tells me the issue is with your actor events.

A good example of this is Raynor's Rifle shot from the campaign, if you need a reference.
