If i ever put doodads in the area that players can build towers in, then they can never seem to build mazes because the creeps I have will always path between the border of the actual maze and the doodads. How can i fix this?
give the doodad a footprint of whatever grid size needed 2x2 for example but make sure its the (contour) option I beleive this makes it unpathable for the full 2x2 square

Can you post an example screen shot of what you're saying.

But aren't all doodads raw actors? :S

They still have an actor - footprint, its usually just of type (doodad) not (contour)
worst comes to worst. you can place pathing blockers under all the doodads
