Hello, My marine has the mover set to ground, I have no pathing (I have the "no pathing" painted, not just no pathing period) painted on the cliff, I have 1by1 building blockers on the cliff...
Nothing is stopping my marine from traversing cliffs! Please help!
Welcome to SC2Mapster, the one-eyed mapping community in the land of the blind.
What you're describing sounds like it should work fine, unless you've made a crazy custom mover or somehow didn't actually paint "no pathing" onto the cliffs. Your Marine shouldn't be able to walk up the cliffs anyway.
The building blockers won't actually block units like marines... they're certainly not helping with your problem.
Is your Marine already on a "no pathing" painted area? It seems if a unit is already in a no pathing zone it can move around inside it.
Sorry if this stuff sounds insulting - I don't have any other ideas :(
Is his name Jesus? :P
Joke aside. Have you set the right collision values? You have to set it to "ground" as far as I know for the marine to actually interact with the ground.
I don't really know what you're doing, I haven't used pathing yet. So have no idea what pathing painting and so on means. But activation collision with the ground should help. Maybe it somehow got mixed up or something.
I hope that helps, if not I still wish you much luck :/

Is your marine placed/spawned on the lowest cliff level, with or without the "ignore placement" option set? Because if it is, your marine can walk on the lowest ground level, but will climb up if it reaches a cliff. And once he has reached the 3 usual terrain heights, there is no way (except a "move unit instantly" trigger, maybe) to get it back to the lowest cliff level. The lowest cliff level wasn't meant for adding units on it, which is why no matter what mover or collision flags you give him, he will always get back to the 3 usual heights allowed once he reaches them.
Is it a custom marine? Did you try to do the exact same thing with a melee unit? If it works for the melee unit, it obviously means your custom unit is not working as it should and we'll start from there...
I finally figured it out. I had the lowest cliff level, and it seems that any unit can traverse cliffs on the low levels. Is that considered a bug or is it deliberate?
EDIT: Oh whoops I didn't see your post Zeal. That was the problem.
