Been looking at Set Unit Model Variation and it suggest that I can set the texture for a model. I've been playing with this- trying to make a zealot all white by putting Assets\Textures\white32.dds in the texture field with no luck.
If anyone could get this to work, it would be excellent. Being able to dynamically swap unit skins would be awesome, especially for RPGs and whatnot.

Have you looked at the campaign protoss buildings? There they use Texture Select By Id to swap the skins to dark protoss when a tech is researched.
Contribute to the wiki (Wiki button at top of page) Considered easy altering of the unit textures?
