Hi, got another data question for the experts here:
Basically the title says it all, i want to have a buff that has a visual effect consisting of an orb that orbits around the buffed unit.
How can i do this? I know that there are "Model" actors that can be used to add visual effects to buff by using the events+ tab, but i have no idea how i can achieve the orbiting model.
There are two ways. One use a hidden mothership model with your model as an attachment and then adjust the speed of the mothership animation.
Second use the SOp (Forward Vector) method where you have the SOp follow two hidden marine models that change scale. You then just attach your model at an offset to the pivot.

Better leave it until patch 1.5. In 1.5 there is an actor type - Rotator. You can use it to make something orbit around another model. If you have 1.5 beta installed check attached map

I know this is one hell of a necro but I've implemented the data info from the Rotator map from abvdzh. I've made a change with the rotator model. I've changed Sphere Orb 1 and Sphere Orb 2 to units (marines). It works, however, the marines loose their ability to attack. Is there any way to have this kind of set up but allow the rotating units to attack?

Also you can use triggers for that.
Thats awesome! Thanks. :)

Tried adding the events found on the Unit type actor?
